5 Ways To Amplify Affirmations!
Guys and gals..
I’m so excited to talk about this topic!
And it goes so well with my last blog, “How To Step Into Our Higher Self. Every Morning!”
Stepping into our Higher Self has a LOT to do with affirmations.
It actually might be pretty much everything to do with it..
BUT,
there are some very important points on how to make affirmations actually
effective.
What are affirmations?
Affirmations are positive statements we can say and repeat to ourselves that help to create and shape our (desired) reality.
An analogy I like is a mind garden.
Creating affirmations is like choosing what “seeds”🌱 you want to grow
in your subconscious mind, or “mind garden.”
How affirmations help
The magic of affirmations in my opinion is that they help shift our identity.
This means they can help us become the person we want to be.
Which then means, we can be whoever we want to be!
How exciting and liberating is that?!
It’s one of the best and most creative parts of being human.
We’re in control of who we are.
Our affirmations help us focus on what we want to grow.
To repeat one of my favorite quotes..
“Where focus goes, energy flows.”
So it’s important to know where our attention is
since energy, and potentially action and effort will flow in that direction.
We want focus and energy moving us towards the things we genuinely want -
things that are worthwhile,
align to our core values,
and make us truly happy 😊
How to AMPLIFY your affirmations!
Now here’s where it gets juicy.
Once you choose your affirmations, or seeds,
it then takes some nurturing to help them grow in your mind garden.
Here’s how:
🌞Repeat them.
Repeating your affirmations daily (or often enough)
is like giving them the sunlight that help those positive little seeds germinate
and sprout.
My personal favorite time to nurture those seeds is in the morning
to start my day fresh as my Higher Self
and get momentum moving in the right direction.
It’s like waking up my Higher Self and telling her to rise and shine! 🌞
2. 💦Water the flowers, not the weeds.
What seeds do we want to grow?
The ones we want!
Again with the focus and momentum..
It’s not about having an obsessive focus on them,
it’s about knowing where to place your attention so your energy flows
where you want it to.
3. 🪴Better believe it.
This is the kicker.
Belief is like the roots growing in our mind garden.
Some affirmations seem far-fetched.
When we sense a gap,
or just don’t really believe in the affirmation,
it can create resistance and maybe even resentment to it.
We don’t want that.
That’s not how affirmations work,
and a seedling will just blow away if there’s nothing really rooting it down.
When making our affirmations,
there are ways we can prevent resistance
and help those seeds get deeply rooted so they’re effective.
Cue tip #4!
4. 🌻Affirm it, and CONFIRM it.
In order to believe our affirmations to set deep roots,
we need a good foundation for them to grab hold of.
Confirming our affirmations is like building and feeding our garden’s soil.
Mmm hmm.. adding in that compost and fertilizer 💩
We want to keep the soil healthy and nutritious so those roots grow strong!
We can do that by taking action🎬-
creating opportunities and looking for evidence of our affirmations.
For example,
One of my affirmations could be.
“I’m super duper effective and always get my work done on time.”
During my day, I can look for evidence to support that statement.
Such as..
once I finish a task for work,
I can count that as proof that I get my work done on time!
Or like..
If I find an effective way to do one of my tasks that saves me time or hassle,
I count that as evidence that I get work done effectively 🤓
We can think about ways to create evidence as well.
An example of this could be wanting to finish a project on time,
breaking it down into smaller tasks that can be done in about 30 min intervals,
setting my timer,
and doing it!
We are in control of taking action and making things happen.
When we practice our affirmations by taking deliberate action,
(what I would call the habits that create our Higher Self identity)
we’re conditioning ourselves into our Higher Self in the present moment
and can feel how it feels to be our Higher Self.
This means we’re being who we want to be,
therefore we are who we want to be,
and therefore we are our Higher Selves 😇
We’re shifting our identity.
That’s magic!
5. 🌿Tend to the weeds.
Ok, sometimes weeds just pop up.
They can be statements from our family, friends, coworkers, the news, etc..
But again..
We’re in control of what we let grow in our garden.
We can ignore the weeds and let them wither away,
or even pull them out and replace them with flowers and fruit trees! 🌸
Really though..
We can shift those negative beliefs into something that suits us better.
Whatever that negative, repeating thought, belief or affirmation is,
we can identify how and where it’s triggering us
and alter it to support our new identity.
For example,
A negative belief I’ve had for some time is that I’m good at planning,
but not so much at the taking action part.
I can switch that to a more positive affirmation like,
“I always focus and follow through on my plans
because I love taking action to see results!”
There you have it, folks!
I hope you enjoyed, and maybe got a little inspired to tend to your own
affirmation/mind garden!
Happy planting! 😄
